Tapestry proves to be a huge success
Following a lengthy research period, Once upon a time launched online Learning Journals via Tapestry in September 2016. Learning Journals offer early years settings a way to record the special moments of their children, and to keep parents involved as their children blossom and grow. More recently they have been used in conjunction with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learning and development stages to assess more formally how children are progressing.
Julie Banbury, Director of Care and Education, said “I have been very impressed with Tapestry. In this age of instant communication, we can easily create exciting and secure online journals featuring digital photos, videos and text.
Feedback from parents over the past two years has been very positive, and the staff have enjoyed getting to grips with the tablets and using the Tapestry app. One of the many benefits is that it allows the team to spend more time with the children and less time in the office – printing photographs, and cutting, pasting and writing in the old-style journals was a time-consuming affair
